Grape varieties : 80 % Syrah, 20 % Mourvèdre

Appearance : Splendid intense red variegated dress, purple reflections

Aroma : Intense and concentrated nose: mocha attack, cocoa, then very ripe fruity, graphite and delicately spicy at the end of the olfaction

Taste : The balance in the palate is remarkable: full in the beginning, then solid with however a great elegance and tannins already perfectly coated. The mineral tension effectively counterbalances the extreme density of this wine and gives it a surprising drinkability.

Finish : Very nice length, with a final Espelette pepper

ABV : 15.5%

Serving temperature : 61 ° F

Pairing : This wine goes perfectly with festive red meat meals and chocolate desserts

Meet the Winemaker

Pierre Pastre, husband of Chantal Le Roy, daughter of Henry, takes over the management of the estate in 2004. Anxious to perpetuate the tradition of quality, he undertook the restructuring of the domain: thorough study of the soils, renewal of the vineyard, modernization of the cellars.
In 2016, Pierre Pastre decided to step back and slowly slide into retirement by recruiting two people passionate about the world of wine.
The first, Sandra Rochel is responsible for the work of the vineyard and the winemaking.
The second, Anna Olejnik, is responsible for the administrative and commercial management of the domain.
Together, they strive to meet current demands, while preserving the tradition and spirit of Fortia.
